Octopus (2020)
This exquisite octopus artwork features curling tentacles and is beautifully detailed in the naturally warm tones of red seaweed species. Every element of this piece is carefully arranged. Spore caps picked from fertile fern fronds decorate the undersides of the tentacles, whilst layers of delicate seaweed add depth to the eyes. A stunning and unique piece.
All artworks are crafted using real plant materials, and all colours are completely natural. No dyes, paints, or artificial colouring have been added.
Composed of various seaweeds, including Irish moss, red comb weed, dulse, laver, and sea beech. Florals and foliage include fern, hydrangea, phlox, potentilla, and viola along with others.
Made on heavy-weight, cold-pressed, acid-free, watercolour paper.

Original Artwork Care Information.
Please keep in mind that these artworks are created using real plant materials, so it’s important to display them with care. To preserve their beauty, avoid placing them in direct sunlight, strong artificial light, or near sources of air conditioning, heating, or humidity, as these conditions can accelerate fading and cause damage.
While the plants used are treated with ultraviolet (UV) protective varnish and dried properly for long periods of time, it is natural for pressed flowers and leaves to gradually lose some colour over time. This is an inherent characteristic of the medium.
If you choose to frame your artwork, I recommend opting for high-quality UV protective glass, which is commonly available through most professional framers. This provides added protection and helps maintain the artwork’s condition.
The leaves and petals featured in each piece are either garden-grown or responsibly foraged, with careful consideration to minimise environmental impact. All marine algae used in the artworks are sustainably collected from the shore with permission from beach owners.
